Ex-Gov. Dickson mourns Buruji Kashamu, condoles Ogun gov.

Former governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson, has described Sen. Buruji Kashamu who died last Saturday of complications from the coronavirus disease as a ‘strong political leader’ and great grassroots mobiliser.

While condoling with the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the people of Ogun State, the deceased’s immediate family and friends, Dickson also described Kashamu’s death as ”a great shock.”

The former Bayelsa governor said Kashamu treated him with respect, supported and encouraged him.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late politician and for God to grant his family, friends and well wishers the fortitude to bear the loss.

”His death should remind us to continue to be cautious, follow NCDC safety guidelines and protocols as COVID-19 is real and deadly,” Dickson cautioned, while also urging all to ”support the wearing of masks, using of hand sanitizers and frequent washing of hands as we endeavour to flatten the curve.”
