Edgal takes over as Ogun Police boss, cancels leave for officers

The new Commissioner of Police in-charge of Ogun State Police Command, CP Edgal OLuwole Imohimi, has cancelled all forms of leave for officers in the command, charging them to return to their duty post. 

Edgal who was speaking after officially resuming duty at the State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, in Abeokuta, said the cancellation of all forms of leave be it casual or annual leave, except in emergencies, was necessary to checkmate the activities of hoodlums especially during the yuletide. 

The CP who arrived the headquarters at 11 a.m. was received by members of the Ogun State police management team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of operation Department DCP Edward Loginn.

In his address the CP directed, saying, “ All policemen serving in Ogun State should return back to their duty post from wherever they may be as there is going to be physical head count of all the personnel attached to the Command.

“All forms of leave be it casual or annual leave, except  in emergencies, has been cancelled. This is because all hands must be on deck to checkmate the activities of hoodlums especially during the ember months and yuletide season.”

Edgal further promised to deepen and institutionalise the strategy of community policing and community safety partnership to reduce crime in Ogun State, in line with the objectives of operation puff-Adder.
