The Chief Executive Officer of LASTMA, Mr Chris Olakpe, made the disclosure while speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos.

Olakpe said that LASTMA officials had been trained and tutored on how to manage traffic in the state.

“Our officials have been tutored on road management and strategies to ensure free flow of traffic in various corridors during the Easter period and after.

“The authority has also brief them on how to handle erring drivers without ranchor between them.

The LASTMA boss also advised motorists to drive to stay alive by avoiding drunk driving, over-loading, reckless driving and driving against traffic.

“Drive to stay alive is our message to motorists during this Easter period.

“We want them to shun all the insanity and attitude that can affect free flow of traffic at this Easter period.

“Any driver arrested for serious offence at this period must know that his or her vehicle will spend Easter in our yards.

“That is why motorists must drive carefully and obey rules and regulations to avoid being arrested by our able officials.

“Any vehicle arrested for reckless driving, driving against traffic and other offences will not be released until after the festivities,” he added. (NAN)
