Dosu blames Mikel for Trabzonspor sack

A former Nigeria U-23 safe hands, Joseph Dosu, has blamed former Super Eagles skipper, Mikel John Obi for refusing to play for his Turkish Club, Trabzonspor, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mikel parted ways with Trabzonspor in cloudy circumstances, following Mikel’s criticism of the Turkish football authority’s decision to play the Super Lig games behind closed doors despite other major football leagues suspending play due to the Covid-19 plague.

Speaking to Goal, Dosu said: “I think there is a better way to approach the problem instead of going to social media.

“What he said was okay but he should have not written it on social media. There is a footballers association in Turkey where he could write to and also the club’s captain.

“I feel it is not the best going on social media. We have people that employed us and there is always a code of conduct.”
