Don’t fail Fayemi, Ekiti dep. gov. tells new appointees

Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ado-Ekiti Local Government recently-appointed to various political positions to justify their appointments with quality service delivery.
The Deputy Governor enjoined them not to disappoint Governor Kayode Fayemi who appointed them and the people of Ekiti State they are serving in their new capacities saying their appointments carry huge responsibilities which must be diligently discharged.
Egbeyemi who spoke at a reception he hosted for the new appointees at the Deputy Governor’s Lodge in the Government House also warned against disloyalty, disunity and other acts that can cause disaffection in their ranks.
According to a statement on Monday signed by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Deputy Governor, Odunayo Ogunmola, the get-together was attended by the newly appointed commissioner, special advisers, a statutory board chairman, senior special assistants, special assistants, senior party elders and local government executives.
Congratulating the party faithful for the success recorded in the last general elections, Egbeyemi said it was possible because they worked together as a team to ensure victory for all APC candidates.
The Deputy Governor stressed that Ado-Ekiti benefited immensely from the benevolence of Dr Fayemi whom he said appointed many indigenes of the town to enviable positions in appreciation of the votes recorded at the recently conducted elections.
Egbeyemi, who urged more support for the Governor charged the appointees and other party faithful to always spread the news of good policies of the present administration to the people in the grassroots to win more members into the party.
While reiterating his loyalty to his boss, Egbeyemi assured that he would always work hard to assist the Governor deliver on his electoral promises to the people and make a difference in the lives of the electorate who voted the party into power.
He appealed to party members who did not succeed in getting the party’s tickets for one office or the other in the recent elections to remain loyal and keep working hard saying “their time will come.”
Speaking on party unity, Egbeyemi said: “I want to warn you people against telling lies and destroying one another. We should stop saying bad things about ourselves and against this government.
“We must be united for our party to become stronger. We are all brothers and sisters. Let us love ourselves and avoid all forms of bitterness and hatred against fellow party members because we need unity to sustain our good performance in office.”
The Deputy Governor advised party members to always attend meetings in their wards and win more members into the fold to build a virile and stronger party.
Responding on behalf of the new appointees, Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration, Alhaji Ayodele Jinadu, appreciated the Governor for finding them worthy of their new offices.
He promised that they would justify their appointments by keying into the administration’s four-point agenda and work harder for the party in Ado-Ekiti and in the entire state.
