Dismissed soldier arrested for internet fraud

The police, in Ondo State, have arrested a dismissed soldier, Ayobami Onigbinde, for allegedly indulging in internet fraud. Onigbinde, it was learnt, was dismissed from the military at the time he was about doing his passing out parade.

He was dismissed for procuring fake results, which he used to gain admission into Military training school.

The suspect, after engaging in different menial jobs with success, deviated to posing as an Army Officer, who just came back from Borno State, to defraud his victims.

In connivance with his accomplice, Aroyeun Oladayo, they would pose as stranded soldiers, looking for help.

By the time the unsuspecting victim tries to render the help they ended up being defrauded.

The suspects would collect goods on credit and send fake bank alert to their victim.

The Ondo State Police Commissioner, CP Uchie Adie, said that the dismissed soldier had confessed to defrauding 19 unsuspecting victims.
