As encomiums pour on Delta First Lady , Dame Edith Okowa, who turns 60 today, the Political Adviser to the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Omimi Esquire, has described her as ‘not only a dependable partner in the actualisation of the Okowa administration’s stronger Delta vision, but also a strong pillar of support for her husband and indeed Deltans’.
In a congratulatory message to mark the first lady’s diamond birthday anniversary, Omimi Esquire, noted that without the support of the first lady to her husband at the home front.
“It could have been difficult for him to concentrate on impacting positively on the many landmark infrastructural and human capital successes recorded so far in the six years of the Governor being at the saddle of governance in Delta State”.
“Omimi specifically mentioned her Excellency’s picking up of medical bills of indigent parents who were blessed with children but could not pay their discharge bills, periodic visit to prison inmates with foodstuff and moral exhortation, the free eye checks and cataract operation including provision of eye glasses, the building of a sickle cell unit at the Aasaba specialist hospital and other health facilities in the state , as well as countless other altruistic acts, as a demonstration of Dame Okowa,s kind heart and milk of human kindness.

“Not only that , the Political Adviser said, Dame Edith Okowa, has, through her 05 initiative, brought succour and hope to hundreds of widows , orphans , physically challenged and indeed children and elderly”.
While urging the first lady to keep up the good work to society and always be a pillar to his boss the Governor, the Political Adviser prayed for more of God,s grace and protection for the matriarch of the Okowa family , as she continues to do her best in the Lord’s vineyard.
