Delta police nab 5  for kidnapping, murder, recover body parts

 The Delta State Police Command has arrested five suspected kidnappers in Obiaruku community of the state and also recovered a human skull and other human parts suspected to be that of their victim.

The state’s anti-kidnap and robbery squad nabbed the suspects in connection with the alleged kidnap and murder of a 39-year-old farmer, Joy Osameze.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali,  identified the suspects in a statement, as Emmanuel Ojibe, 18y, Osam Ogolime, 21, Ossai Reuben, 22, Odigili Chukwutem, 33, and Ukpaka Confidence, 20yrs.

According to him, the suspects abducted the deceased while she was returning from farm at Abraka Farm Reserve on February 5, 2021.

He disclosed that one of the suspects confessed to the crime on March 7, 2021, leading to the arrest of three other suspects, Razaq Ifamaye, ‘m’, age 38yrs, and Gbenga Olawuyi, ‘m’, age 50yrs, both natives of Ekiti State but resident in Obiaruku, and one Samson Oduni, ‘m’, age 31yrs, a native of Obiaruku.

CP Ali said: “Upon interrogation, Razaq Ifamaye, ‘m’, who confessed to the crimes led Police operatives attached to Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crimes squad to Shegelo Beach, Obiaruku on 09/03/2021 at about 1615hrs where a Bagco Bag containing human skull and other human parts suspected to be that of the victim was recovered.

“One Chikogwu Isaac A.K.A Ikukwu, ‘m’, 38yrs, a native of Obiaruku whose premises the exhibit was found, instigated four (4) others, who are now at large to attack the operatives in order to prevent/obstruct the operatives from making the recovery.”

Ali added that Isaac was, however, arrested while the human remains were taken to the Agbor General Hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the suspects have been transferred to the Squad’s base in Asaba, CP Ali, as investigation continues.
