Decomposing bodies of kidnapped UNIPORT students found in forest

The decomposing bodies of three undergraduate students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State, kidnapped at Choba area of the state, have been recovered by the state police.
It was gathered that the deceased students, Nelson Nwafor, Fortune Obemba, and Joy Adoki, were kidnapped on April 7. 
A statement by the Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), revealed that three suspect involved in the crime,  had earlier been arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Police Command.
Omoni stated that the suspects confessed to the crime, and led operatives to the recovery of the bodies in a forest at Eteo in Eleme Local Government Area, on Friday, May 1. 
The statement by the police reads: “ Operatives of the Anti – Kidnapping Unit, led by the Commander at the early hours of May 1, 2020, recovered the decomposed bodies of Nelson Nwafor, Fortune Obemba,  and Joy Adoki, all undergraduates of University of Port Harcourt who were abducted on April 7, 2020, at Choba.
“ In the course of Investigation, one of the Kidnappers was arrested on April 30, 2020, and on interrogation made useful confessions that led to the arrest of two others. At the early hours of May 1,  one of the suspects by name Friday Akpan, took the operatives to a forest at Eteo in Eleme LGA, where the bodies of the victims were recovered.”
The spokesperson said the remains of the deceased students had been deposited in the mortuary. 
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included one AK47 rifle, three magazines, and 72 rounds of ammunition.
Omoni said the Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Mukan, had assured the families of the deceased students of justice. 
“ The Commissioner of Police has assured that  justice will be brought to bear in the circumstance, while appealing to the public to always assist the lolice with useful information, ” he said.
