Daura goes on total lockdown, as 3 tests positive to COVID-19 in Katsina

Daura, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari will go on total lockdown from 7:00a.m on Saturday.

This was made known by Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, on Friday.

The lockdown imposed on the town came after three people tested positive for Coronavirus in the state.

It was gathered that the positive cases were among the 23 people who had contact with the state’s index case who died recently.

Briefing newsmen, Governor Masari said a total of 23 samples were sent for testing after the death of index case and three including his wife and 2 of his children turned up positive.

Said he, “Already, the patient’s are being evacuated to an isolation center located at the Federal Medical center, Katsina for treatment.”

It was also gathered that the state government had concluded plans to lockdown Daura Local Government Area from 7:00am tomorrow, Saturday.

Masari said, the lockdown which would be total, noted that some selected pharmaceutical shops, grain shops would be allowed to operate under strict supervision. Details later…‎
