CSOs Converge on Ilorin for Tinubu, Abdur-Razaq, Mustapha

Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Good Governance (CSOs), will Thursday lay siege to Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State to rally support for the political bids of three major candidates in the coming general elections in 2023.

A joint statement from Comrades Razaq Olokoba and Folashade Aransiola, Convener and Co-Convener respectively disclosed that the three political juggernauts that necessitate their trip to the North Central State of Nigeria are Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Alhaji Abdur-Rahaman Abdur-Razaq and Alhaji Saliu Mustapha.

The statement recalled that, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the presidential flag bearer of his party while Abdur-Rahman Abdur-Razaq, the Kwara State Governor is in procession of the party’s ticket for the coming governorship election for a second term in office.

The third man on the list is the Kwara Central Senatorial District flag bearer for the Senate in the APC, Kwara State chapter, Alhaji Saliu Mustapha.

The jointly signed press release informed that, the Thursday rally would serve a triple purpose of galvanising support for Tinubu’s presidential bid, Abdur-Razaq’s bid for a second term in office and Mustapha’s quest to represent his good people in the Upper Legislative Chambers in Abuja from next year.

According to the organization, the major purpose of the planned convergence on the capital city of Kwara State is to leave nobody in doubt that, “as an organization in love of good governance and service to humanity, we are fully in support of the aspirations of the three principals we have mentioned above,” promising to work tirelessly to ensure that people give them the needed mandate to realise the political and electoral ambition.

The organisers of the gathering, who promised a fantastic outing however assured that all precautions have been put I place to ensure an itch ree outing that would devoid of thuggery, hooliganism and rancour, disclosing that all the relevant security apparatus would be notified of the rally.

The statement further corrected the erroneous impression that the members are card carrying individuals saying, “though we are apolitical, nothing constitutionally wrong in civil organizations canvassing for performing office holders and aspirants to political offices if they are adjudged to be right personalities that have been serving humanity rightly.”

Concluding, the statement affirmed the CSO’s support for anything that would better the lot of humanity irrespective of where such benefit will be coming from, stressing the need to support any group of people or individuals whose goal and aspiration is to serve humanity without string attached to such aspiration.
