COVID-19: Rights group backs FG over Madagascar medication

Razaq Bamidele

A pro-democracy and human rights group, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), has pledged its support to the Federal Government over any initiative that could see Nigeria out of trouble including seeking antit-COVID-19 medication from Madagascar.

National President of the group, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, in a statement, in Lagos State, on Friday, saw nothing wrong in seeking medical assistance from anywhere in the world to combat the universal enemy that has no respect for anybody irrespective of age, creed, colour, religious beliefs or political leanings.

The youth leader was of the strong conviction that, what is expected to be the concern of all and sundry now globally is about how to collective battle the monster out of existence, stressing that, the Federal Government’s looking for cure from Madagascar is never a sign of weakness but a welcome development.

Against the foregoing, the CDG leader advised the Federal Government to stop moralising on the Madagascar medication saga because doing so is never a sign of weakness if at all it had requested for the assistance on medical ground.

He condemned the cyber bully that always comes out strongly to confuse uninformed Nigerians to compel the Federal government to run from its decisions that are often time in the best interest of the populace.

“It is correct and in order for any nation to seek and secure assistance from other nations that have a higher knowledge or capacity on a subject matter. And there is no nation that can cater for all its needs without external help since no country can be on its own like an Island or an Oasis,” Olokoba submitted.
