COVID-19: NCDC asks Ex-Gov Sule Lamido to go on self-isolation

The Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has advised erstwhile governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, to immediately go into self isolation.

This was for attending the funeral ceremony at Koki where Kano index case reportedly mixed freely with the crowd of sympathisers on Thursday, the Nigeria

The NCDC gave the advice to the former governor in text message he published on his facebook page,  saying: “Assalamu Alaykum, Your Excellency Sir, as part of our Covid-19 contact tracing your name was mentioned among other dignitaries that attended the funeral at Koki on Thursday.

“We would like to have your kind permission for our Rapid Response Team, RRT to evaluate your risk and possibly take sample.”

Director Public Health in the State Ministry of Health, Dr Imam Wada Bello, who is also the secretary, Kano State Task Force on Covid-19 sent the message was sent to Sule Lamido.

Lamido, who is also a former minister of foreign affairs responded promptly: “Sure, I am available any time you need me, let me know when.”
