COVID-19 lockdown: GNI extends more palliatives to the vulnerable, less privileged

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, fondly called GNI, has extended further interventions to the vulnerable and the less-privileged.

The grassroots politician who had earlier distributed cash to party faithful and poor homes accross the twenty local government of the state, donated food items such as rice, spaghetti, beans, salt, and seasonings to vulnerable persons in the five local governments of Ogun West senatorial district.

The donations this time around were channeled through organized groups such as the League of Imams and Alfas, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and leadership of market women in the zone.

GNI noted that the whole idea is to support the efforts of government at this time. He said, “While the palliatives may not be enough to take the beneficiaries through this tough period, it would meet their short term need.

“We are giving it out through the religious groups and market leaders, who are in vantage position to identify deserving beneficiaries in their locations”.

The  items were received by the representatives of CAN  Apostle John Dada from Yewa North, respresentative of League of Imams and Alfa, Alhaji Alli from Ado-Odo/Ota and the leadership of  market women in the five local governments including the Iyaloja of Yewaland, Alhaja Yemisi Abass.

Apostle Dada, who spoke on behalf of all the group leaders commended Isiaka for his sense of responsibility in supporting the people of the area.

He added, “We are glad to have a political leader like GNI who has always identified with the people”.

On her part, Iyaloja Yemisi Abass promised that the items will be distributed to the most deserving in the various communities.
