COVID-19 lockdown: C’ River begins payment of N30,000 to youths

The Cross River State Government has begun disbursing the monthly payment of N30,000 stipends to youths in the state mainly to cushion the effect of the Coronavirus lockdown.

Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Inyang Asibong, disclosed that the distribution commenced, on Monday, to beneficiaries of the Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO).

The commissioner said the aim is to assist the vulnerable during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic to meet their needs.

He said the payment was approved for beneficiaries who are engaged in community services such as sanitation, clearing of gutters, erosion control among others.
