COVID-19: Islamic group lifts 350 members amid lockdown

An Islamic group, Zawiyatur Sofwatur Rahamatil Islamiyyat (ZASRAM), Ota, Ogun State, has distributed food items to about 350 members and less privileged neighbors.
The food stuff was shared house to house indiscriminately to Muslims, Christians and traditionalists.
According to the Founder/Chief Missioner of the group, Shiekh AbdurRazaq Abdul Hameed Onaolapo Kasolayo, hunger and Coronavirus don’t recognise religion, tribe and social status, hence, the resolve to get across to everyone within the vicinity.
The Osun state born Ogun state based  arabic scholar stressed the need to take care of neighbors irrespective of their faith or ethnicity, adding that the rights of the neighbors must be upheld.

Quoting copiusly from the Noble Qur’an, Kasolayo told the audience the divine injunctions relating to obedience to God, his prophets and those in the authority, pointing out that the only reason for calling the authority’s attention to a law is when the law is against humanity.


The learned scholar stated that all the preventive measures against the deadly Coronavirus like social distancing, staying at home and hygienic behaviours are in line with Allah’s commandments.
He therefore urged his congregation and other non Muslim around to always observe the lockdown orders and using of face masks when necessary.
“The order is not punitive but a way to curb the spread of the monster with a view to eradicating it finally from our country,” Kasolayo asserted.
Some beneficiaries, whose names are not disclosed to protect their integrity according to Islamic code of alms giving praised the kind initiative of the ZASRAM Chief Imam, praying God to enrich him and his mosque members abundantly.
They therefore urged other religious leaders, cooporate outfits, well to do individuals in the society to emulate the ZASRAM leader in cushioning the effects of hunger is occationed by the Coronavirus lockdown.
