COVID-19: el-Rufai mulls another lockdown in Kaduna

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State has said his administration would impose another lockdown in the state if residents failed to adhere to the COVID-19 safety measures put in place.

Governor el-Rufai said this after commissioning a COVID-19 testing vehicle donated to the state by the USAID, on Thursday.

The governor also said another lockdown would be enforced if COVID-19 infections overwhelm the Kaduna healthcare system.

The governor, therefore, appealed with residents of the state to adhere to COVID-19 safety measures put in place, noting that the state government would not hesitate to impose another lockdown if necessary.

He said the state government would do what was needed to be done to protect lives of people in the state.
