As the people of Lagos State have been allowed to move out of their homes where they had been observing the government mandatory stay-at-home order, a concerned activist, Comrade Omobanke Razak, has advised then to exercise caution so as not to defeat the aim of the ‘freedom’ given to them.

Comrade Razak, who is Convener of a right organisation, Labour & Workers’ Welfare Advocacy Centre (LWWAC), in a statement in Lagos Monday stressed the need to be cautious in their way of life while going about their daily economic and social activities, reminding them of the importance of survival.

The concerned activist also reminded that whistle-blowers are all over the state monitoring the conduct of every individual and group with a view to reporting misconducts capable of putting the citizenry at the risk of COVID-19 to the authorities for adequate sanctions.

While urging the whistle blowers to do their work diligently, Razak said the whistle blowers are not out to witch hunt or harass people but to guide against contravention of any of the preventive measures put in place by the Lagos administration for the good living of all and sundry.

The concerned activist reminded that the government took the decision of freeing the people to go around searching for means of livelihood so as to safeguard the personal and national economy from going into comatose.

Against this background, the group leader warned the people not to misuse the opportunity to cause more trouble for themselves and for the state, stressing the need to cooperate with the Lagos State administration to consolidate the gains already made in the war against Coronavirus.

Razak regretted that the authorities decided to monitor compliance with all the preventive rules against the deadly disease ravaging the whole world, stating emphatically that, the only to defeat the deadly disease remains strict adherence to wearing of face covers, observing high level of hygienic conducts, Social Distancing as well as steering clear of crowded place.

He therefore strongly advised that, “as we are going out from today, we should endeavour to stay safe from the Chinese disease,” adding that, “if going out is not necessary, staying at home would be better because this is not the right time for sightseeing and window shopping.
