Court remands man for allegedly trespassing on Sobi barracks

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that  a 25-year-old applicant, Kunle Oyedokunin, who allegedly trespassed on Sobi Cantoment of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Ilorin, be remanded in a correctional facility.

Magistrate Mercy Adebola, ordered that Oyedokunin be remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Oke-Kura.

Adebola adjourned the case until November 11 for further mention.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Thomas Adebayo, told the court that the accused, who lives in  Shao, Kwara, was arrested on October 15 by soldiers.

He said the accused was found loitering around the military cantonment and when questioned, he could not give a satisfactory account of himself.

The prosecutor alleged that investigation conducted revealed that the accused trespassed into the cantonment to spy and plan an attack.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 306 of the Penal Code.

After the charges were read to him, he pleaded not guilty.  (NAN)
