Court dismisses PDP petition, affirms Hon. Gadgi’s election

…As Useni takes Lalong to Appeal Court

The Court of Appeal, sitting in Jos, Plateau State, has affirmed the election of the member of House of Representatives for Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam PKK Federal Constituency, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, thereby dismissed the appeal petition of Hon. Timothy Golu.

Recall that the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal for Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam Federal Constituency.

The Appeal Court, on Monday, re-affirmed the election of Hon. Gagdi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and dismissed the appeal filed by Hon, Golu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Delivering the judgement, Justice Ukechukwu Onyemenam, declared that the appeal lacked merit and thereby dismissed the petition.

Lead counsel to APC candidate, Barr. Garba Pwul SAN, in an interview with journalists at the court premises, shortly after the verdict, said the court was just to all.

Pwul used the avenue to appeal to all parties involved in the case to work with the winner of the election to develope the constituency better.

Similarly, the Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Sale Yiomong, in an interview with pressmen, said the victory of Hon. Gadgi was victory for the entire constituency.

Hon. Yiomong, member representing Dengi state constituency, charged PKK constituent’s to support Hon. Gadgi to enable him succeed.

Meanwhile, Hon. Golu, the immediate past federal legislator who represented the constituency, in a massage, has congregated his opponent Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, for the victory.

Still at the Appeal Court, the election petition between Governor Simon Lalong, and Sen. Jeremiah Useni, was mentioned same Monday.

The case was subsequently adjourned for further mentioning till November 22, 2019.
