Today’s sanitation exercise was cancelled due to the concern for Coronavirus case which has been noticed in the state.
Though the general manager of the state’s sanitation authority, Solomon Onah, did not disclose that a case had been discovered in Benue, he explained that it was necessary for the people to observe sanitation within their homes so as to avoid close contacts.
Onah said there was no enforcement of sanitation laws because Coronavirus pandemic needed to be checked so that Benue does not become devastated.
However, It was after Onah had spoken to newsmen that Governor Ortom said a case of Coronavirus had been discovered and that the lady, Susan Okpe, who was in a private hospital was being moved to the Benue Stqte University Teaching Hospital isolation center, Makurdi.
The emphasis on the problem of Coronavirus in Benue is on personal hygiene and restriction of movement like Governor Ortom said this afternoon that no commercial motorcyclist should convey more than one passenger at a time.
He said the number of passengers to be conveyed by the buses wôuld be determined in due course.
