Contractors working for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), have declared vote of confidence in the leadership and development efforts of the Managing Director of the Commission, Dr Samuel Ogbuku.

The Contractors who spoke under the aegis of Niger Delta Indigenous Contractors Association (NDICA), said projects and activities of the current Board of NDDC have encouraged sustained development and youth empowerment in the area.

They noted that development efforts of the incumbent leadership of the NDDC has calmed agitations in the region.

The vote of confidence was made in a letter addressed to the NDDC managing director, as jointly signed by group chairman, Mr Ini Ekpo, Sodin Akiagba (secretary), Dr Jones Owuru (Treasurer ), and Chukwuemeka Amirinze (vice chairman).

In the letter, the contractors also informed Ogbuku’s led leadership that they have appointed Mr Apollos Christopher, as new Acting President for NDDC chapter of the Association, saying that took over from Mr. Dressman Darlington.

They said Darlington’s handover to Christopher followed the expiration of his two year tenure of office, as enshrined in the Association’s Constitution.

The group said, “The Board of Trustees of the Niger Delta Indigenous Contractors Association wish to express our gratitude to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr Samuel Ogbuku and indeed the entire management for the people oriented programmes, projects and achievements recorded so far towards empowerment and sustainable development in the Niger Delta region”.

They added “We also want to use this medium to communicate to you our vote of confidence in you and your leadership team”, and thanked the Ogbuku’s led team of the Commission for the continuous support and cooperation with them (contractors).
