Business community drums support for El-Rufai developmental efforts

From Adams Agbo, Kaduna.

Residents of Kaduna have been urged to support the efforts of the state
government at restructuring the capital city of the state rather than complaining and condemning the efforts of Governor Nasiru El-Rufai at making the capital of defunct northern Nigeria a cynosure of other states especially states in the North.

This advise was given by Mr. Mike Amorin a business man  in Kaduna in an exclusive interview at the weekend.
According to him the job he (governor) has started at the central
market is enough evidence that the state is actually headed for
greatness.

“If you come to the market, you will discover that there is free flow
of traffic and the roads are clear of the usual dumps and gridlocks
experienced in the past. The removal and evacuation of attachments in
the market will eventually make easy passage for fire fighting
vehicles, should there be any outbreak of fire in the market”.

He pleaded with those he described as “pessimists”, who are bent on running the governor down, to support him to achieve his goal of building a better state.
Also a trader, Mrs. Alice Johnson Kye urged the governor to turn deaf
ears to the harsh words used at him and concentrate on beautifying the state. She said that the effort of the governor will create employment and find a lasting solution to the insecurity issue facing the state.
She thumbs up the governor and urged him to speed up the market transformation and  road projects and he has started as well as rebuilding the educational sector as he promised during his campaign.
According to Mrs Kye, “For me and my family, we believe in the governor, a known fact that has earned myself and my husband insults in my neighbourhood. We saw what he did in Abuja as FCT minister, we believe that he can replicate same here in Kaduna State.
“He is known, tested and we trust him, that’s why we want him to
concentrate at his job and not to listen to the enemies of progress,” she
added.
It would be recalled that, since the governor started his transformation moves at the capital at his second coming, a lot of residents have been complaining and condemning his efforts calling it an opportunity to marginalize a particular section of the state, a situation the governor has since ignored.
