Buhari will get 75% of Nasarawa votes — Speaker

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari would get 75 per cent of total votes in the state during the February 16, Presidential election.

Balarabe-Abdullahi gave the assurance on Wednesday in Lafia while answering questions from newsmen on the sideline of the visit of President Buhari to the state for his campaign.

According to him, President Buhari’s visit to the state is considered as home coming because Nasarawa state is his natural base.

“I can assure you that, President Muhammadu Buhari will get 75 per cent of the total votes in Nasarawa state, considering his achievements in the state and the country at large,’’ he said.

Balarabe-Abdulllahi (APC), who represents Umaisha/Ugya Constituency, emphasised that the state had benefitted a lot from the present APC administration led by Buhari.

The speaker mentioned the recent inauguration of the dualisation of Keffi/Lafia road and the Lafia/Akurba Power Sub-station among others as some of the achievements of President Buhari in the state.

He said that the joint ticket of Buhari and Osinbajo was a blessing to the nation.

The speaker urged Nigerians to keep their sentiments aside and support President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo with prayer to succeed in their electoral ambition and for the benefit of the present and future generation.

The speaker noted that President Buhari saved the country from collapse, adding that the president would win the February 16 election with landslide victory.

Balarabe-Abdullahi, who is also the Vice Chairman, North Central, Nigeria Conference of Speakers of State Legislators, advised the people of the state and Nigerians to be law abiding and be peaceful, during and after the election. (NAN)
