Buhari departs for London to attend King Charles III’s coronation

President Muhammadu Buhari will, later today (Wednesday) leave for London, the United Kingdom, along with other prominent figures from around the world to Charles III and Camilla’s coronation as His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort of the United Kingdom, respectively.
The coronation will happen, on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
The Commonwealth Summit for Presidents and Heads of Government of Commonwealth countries will be held on May 5 in London as the Commonwealth Secretariat takes advantage of the gathering of world leaders ahead of the coronation.
The Summit, which will discuss the Future of the Commonwealth and the Role of the Youth, is scheduled to include participation from President Buhari.

According to a statement made available to newsmen, on Wednesday, by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, President Buhari will be accompanied by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj.-Gen Babagana Monguno (Rtd), the Director General, National Intelligence Agency, (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Chairperson/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa and other senior government officials.
