BREAKING: Again, Appeal Court fixes Friday judgement on Uche Secondus versus PDP

The Court of Appeal, sitting in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, has deferred to Friday, October 29, the judgement on a suit filed before it by suspended national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus’ suit seeking the stoppage of the national convention of the party.

It was gathered that Prince Secondus, is seeking the stoppage of the national convention scheduled for 30-31 October 2021.

Recall that, on August 23, 2021, one Mr. Ibeawuchi E. Alex and four others of the party had instituted a suit marked PHC/2183/CS/2021 at the High Court of Rivers State, Port Harcourt Judicial Division, with Secondus and the PDP as defendants.

On September 10, 2021, the court delivered its judgment and restrained Secondus from performing the functions of the national chairman of the PDP.

The suspended national chairman subsequently filed an appeal before the Court of Appeal seeking an order of injunction restraining the PDP, its officers and representatives from holding or conducting the national convention scheduled for October 30 and 31, 2021, or any other date pending the hearing and final determination of the appeal.

But the court reserved its decision on a suit by Prince Secondus, seeking the suspension of the party’s convention slated for Saturday.

Secondus through his Counsel, Payo Oyetubo, is asking the court to suspend the October, 30th and 31st National Convention of the party and grant him the right to preside over the convention.
