Anthony Iwuoma

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has ordered that civil servants in the state should be paid the N30, 000 minimum wage forthwith.

Giving the directives to the State Head of Service on Tuesday in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the governor said beneficiaries are civil servants on grade levels one to six.

Ortom reiterated his resolve to implement the agreement reached with labour union leaders in the state and commended them for their understanding.

The governor also insisted that while addressing other development needs in the state, his administration would always prioritise  workers welfare.
