Shehu Sani says Bandits now collects VAT

Sani Shehu said Nigeria is now in trouble as terrorists in the country have resorted to charging the citizens VAT and installing their own leaders in parts of the country.

Bandits in Nigeria are taxing people and collecting Value Added Tax (VAT) from them, says former Kaduna State Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani. Sani warned that bandits will take over power in Nigeria the way Taliban forces installed themselves in Afghanistan.

The former Senator said this on his Twitter page while reacting to reports that bandits now collect valued added tax from farmers in the North-West states of the country. There have been claims by some Northerners that bandits now collect VAT from farmers and install imams in some communities. The police have since dismissed the claims.

Reacting to the rumour via his Twitter handle, Sani wrote;

 “With bandits now collecting VAT and installing their imams and local chiefs, we are literally heading to Kabul.”
