Bandits kidnap five people in Sokoto

Bandits have again attacked Gatawa community in Sabon Birinn Local Government Area of Sokoto State and abducted five persons.

The criminals had earlier attacked the community and collected 11 million naira ransom for the 20 people they had kidnapped on that occasion.
According to sources, the bandits are reportedly demanding N500,000 naira for the latest five kidnap victims and given the community up to next week Monday to cough out the money.

A source in the community said: “Wednesday’s attack was very surprising to the villagers even though the bandits did not kill anyone but embarked on kidnappings to get money

“The bandits stormed the community in the early hours of Wednesday at about 8 am when most people were waking up from their sleep. The bandits began to shoot bullets into the air to scare people and later started taking people hostage.

“As they kidnapped many people, they later released women and went away with the men demanding N500,000 as ransom.”

The Nigerian Xpress reported how Bandits, in November 10, Gunmen suspected to be bandits in yet another gruesome attack on Zamfara State, have killed several people in Tungar Ruwa community of Anka Local Government Area, including a village head.

According to Daily Post source, the bandits stormed the village in the wee hours, searching the entire village and shooting at the villagers.
