Gunmen suspected to be assassins have shot dead the personal driver of a notable chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Michael Johnny.
Also killed in the sad incident was Jonny’s police orderly.
The assassins accosted Johnny’s car and shot dead the two men before fleeing without removing anything from the victims’ car, not even the slain policeman’s service rifle.
They were suspected to be targeting Johnny and his family, who were lucky not to be inside the vehicle at the time of attack.
In fact, the victims were returning from dropping off Johnny’s wife at an unnamed church when they were killed.
The APC leader, who hails from the Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, confirmed the killing of his aides.
