Six mine resistance vehicles that seem to have been transported into Nigeria without due process have been intercepted by men of the Nigerian Army manning a checkpoint in Adamawa State.
It was reported that the vehicles were seized by soldiers attached to the Nigerian Army 23 Armoured Brigade, in Yola.
Military sources told Premium Times that the ownership of the vehicles could not be verified by the Army authorities. The equipment have been handed over to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) pending investigation into the discovery.
The ownership of the vehicles is yet to be ascertained.
It is not immediately clear whether suspects have been arrested over the seizure of the vehicles.
