APC wins Imo North senatorial by-election without candidate

Even as uncertainty hangs over the authentic candidate of the party for the election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the rescheduled Imo North senatorial by election which held, on Saturday.

It is now left for the courts to clarify on who between Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume and Frank Ibezim, was the validly nominated candidate of the party.

The same is, however, not the case in Lagos, where APC’s Tokunbo Abiru recorded a landslide victory over Babatunde Gbadamosi of the PDP.

What PDP lost in Imo and Lagos, it more than made up for in the South South, where it won both the two Senatorial seats in Bayelsa and the one Senatorial seat in Cross River.

With the victory, former Bayelsa State governor,  Rt. Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, and his erstwhile party chairman, Mosese Cleopas, will now be going to the senate to fill the seats vacated by incumbent governor and deputy governor of the state who vacated the seats November last year, to run for the Creek Haven government house.
