APC rank swells as six APGA lawmakers defect to APC

.The ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State was on Tuesday depleted when  six members of the Anambra State House of Assembly elected on its platform defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC. 
 
 Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, who is the chairman of APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee  received the lawmakers at a brief ceremony at the Imo Governors Lodge.

The defecting lawmakers are: Hon. Nonso Okafor, representing Nnewi North, Timothy Ifedioramma, representing Njikoka 1, Cater D. N Umeoduagu, representing Aguata 1, Lawrence Ezeudu, representing Dumekofia, Arthur Chiekwu, representing Idemmih North and Edward Ibuzo, representing Onisha North 2.

 Buni reiterated the party’s determination to win the Anambra governorship election hence the zeal in engaging critical stakeholders in the state.

“Mere looking at what is happening, especially now that so prominent and serving state lawmakers have started joining, the grassroots is moving and Anambra people are moving to the APC,” he said  

n his part,  Governor Hope Uzodinma of  Imo State said the people of the South-east have woken up and the region is committed to national politics, as integral part  of Nigeria, adding that APC will win the  Anambra State governorship election.

The defectors described the All Progressives Congress as a preferred political party in Nigeria and promised to work for the party”s success in the November 6 gubernatorial election.
