APC elders, leaders endorse Apapa Chairman, Idowu Senbanjo, for 2nd term at massive rally

 

 

 

All Progressives Congress, APC, elders and leaders, youths and various ethnic groups have endorsed the candidacy of the Apapa Local Government Chairman, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo, for a second term in office.

 

 

The endorsement took place on Wednesday April 23, 2025 at at massive rally held at the United Christian Secondary School, Apapa.

 

 

Among the leadership at the ceremony were the former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Ade Dosunmu, an APC chieftain, Hon. Bayo Adesanya, Baba Oja-General of Apapa, Alhaji Jimoh Popoola, Iya Oja-General of Apapa, Alhaja Aweni Abdullahi, Dr. Chief Emeka Athanie, South South leader, Dr. Chief Emeka Enebeli, Hon. Wole Adewunmi and Otunba Tijani Gory, who was represented by Femi Adeleye.

 

Chairman of the occasion, Chief Sir Ezekiel Ainabe, who was represented by Desmond Mbaegbu, commended the council chairman for demonstrating selfless, servant leadership and transforming Apapa’ into a livable, safe and beautiful environment.

 

 

Hon. Bayo Adesanya, speaking under the aegis of concerned Elders of Apapa and Apapa Integrity Group (AIG), said the decision to endorse the chairman for a second term was made after extensive consultations with political stakeholders, adding that the group endorsed her as she used her influence to clear Apapa of the pervasive gridlock along the port corridor.

 

Adesanya said she had done incredible work in the provision of health facilities, development of human capacity through training of youths, and also

used her motherly instinct to provide food packs and stipends for students during a period of crisis.

 

Similarly, in his goodwill message, Dr. Dosunmu commended the ‘talk and do’ politics of Hon. Executive Chairman, adding that she commits to whatever she says. He alluded to the prompt fixing of the giant potholes around SIFAX on Warehouse Road, shortly after the report was presented to her.

 

He also disclosed that she met with the Minister of Works in Abuja who speedily addressed the problem.

 

Dr. Dosunmu said she also addressed the issue of flooding on Child Avenue, Ade Dosunmu Close and other streets within Apapa to curtail the menace of floods, and stopped the activities of miscreants and non-state actors who pose risks to the safety of residents.

 

Leader of the South South in Apapa, Chief Dr. Emeka Enebeli said his group was endorsing the Chairman for a second term for her exemplary accomplishments in office. He said his group was supporting the Chairman 150 percent and urged everyone to rally round her for all round success at the polls in July.

 

Other groups like United Apapa Youth Forum (UAYF), comprising about 600 members endorsed her candidacy and the Vulcanizers presented a gift to Hon. Senbanjo at the occasion after endorsing her for a second term.

 

The Igbo Community and the Arewa Community represented by

Chief Athanie and Hon. A. A. Abdullahi also endorsed her candidacy for a second term in order for her to continue with the good works.

 

The Highlight of the occasion was the official endorsement of Hon. Senbanjo by the party elders and leaders who lifted up her hands to the admiration of party leaders.

 

In her response, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo thanked the party’s elders and leaders for their unflinching support to her administration.

 

She said she was overwhelmed by the large turnout of party faithful and friends who had come out enmasse to witness her endorsement.

 

She promised to continue to serve her people to the best of her ability.

 

Hon. Senbanjo was elected into office in 2021.
