Anthony Joshua gives heartwarming gifts to team members after world title victories

Anthony Joshua thanks members of his team by presenting them with miniature versions of his world title belts.

The heavyweight world champion currently holds three of the four recognised titles following his successful defence against Kubrat Pulev last year.

He will bid to add the elusive final piece of the jigsaw when he takes on fellow ruler Tyson Fury this summer.

And if he is successful, his extended team will also have another piece of memorabilia for their mantlepieces.

In a video released on his YouTube channel, Joshua is seen handing out the mini belts following his win over Pulev last December.

Having posed for photos in his dressing room with the real thing, he heads backstage where his team members are gathered.

“These are the smaller versions,” he says as he hands them out, including to Jamie Reynolds, his performance coach.

Joshua lost his belts to Andy Ruiz Jr in summer 2019 but won them back in their rematch six months later.

He was then sidelined for a year due to the coronavirus crisis before eventually meeting – and beating – Pulev in London.

The Bulgarian was dropped three times before he was violently stopped in the ninth round at Wembley Arena.

Joshua’s team immediately entered into discussions with Fury’s counterparts over a clash for all four belts this year.

And the £200million mega-fight moved a step closer when the WBO ruled that Joshua could skip his mandatory defence against Oleksandr Usyk.

Promoter Eddie Hearn expects to announce contracts have been signed within the next two weeks before a decision is made on the venue and date.

As many as six countries are in the running to host the biggest fight since Manny Pacquiao took on Floyd Mayweather in 2015.

But Saudi Arabia is expected to see off competition from Singapore, Australia, China, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

The contract will also include an agreement for a rematch in late 2021 which is expected to be held in Cardiff.
