Anambra guber: APC rank swells as 11 lawmakers dump APGA, PDP

As the Anambra State gubernatorial election draws nearer, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has continued to gain strength and receiving members from rival political parties.

This time, 11 lawmakers  from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, have dumped their parties and defected to the APC.

The defectors, comprising five serving and four former House of Representatives members, as well as two members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, were on Thursday received by the Chairman, APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni.

This was disclosed in a statement issued to newsmen by Mamman Mohammed, Director General Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni.

In the statement, Gov. Buni congratulated the new entrants saying, they made the right choice by joining the national party and bringing their people to the national movement, promising them of good dividends.

“You have taken the right decision at the right time. You will enjoy all the rights and privileges of the party,” the caretaker chairman said.

The defectors lauded Buni and promised to deliver their areas to APC.
