Anambra State-born billionaire, Mr. Ifeanyi Obike, is set to launch a new global airline, ‘Obike Air’.
‘Obike Air’ is a new proposed airline, backed by visionary leader and CEO of The Obike Group, Ifeanyi Obike, whose net worth by 2030 is said to stand at $48.7 billion.
Mr. Obike is currently promoting his ambitions to spark investment and has stated that he envisions Obike Air being a global airline.
A release said that Mr. Obike hopes that his new airline would be able to compete with companies like British Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and Virgin Atlantic.
The upcoming Airline will be in Anambra State.
It is also said that Mr. Obike has expressed interest in Boeing 747s and 787s. These may be the aircraft chosen to launch operations with.
If the proposed airline is launched, this will end Lagos’ monopoly and reduce the mass movement of Igbo importers and exporters to Lagos.
