Pastor Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor of the House on the Rock Church is facing detectives’ interrogation at the Police headquarters in Lagos, following a viral video clip showing him allegedly holding what appeared to be a handgun while stuck in traffic.

 

The police command in Lagos State says

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, told newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos, that Adefarasin had submitted himself to the police.

 

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

 

“He is currently being interrogated by detectives, who have commenced investigation on the case since the video surfaced online.

 

“The video was showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user, while driving in an unregistered vehicle, ” he said.

 

Hundeyin said that the outcome of the investigation would be made public.

 

According to the police spokesman, no one is above the law.

 

In the first week of June, a video clip surfaced online showing Adefarasin allegedly holding what appeared to be a handgun while stuck in traffic.

The viral video led to public speculation, with some social media users alleging that the pastor was displaying a gun while being filmed by a TikToker known for documenting luxury cars.

However, Adefarasin, in a message to his congregation posted on his social media handles, denied the allegation.

He said that the object was not a firearm, and that he did not point it at anyone. (NAN)
