Senator pledges inclusive governance for Anioma people

The senator Representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Ned Nwoko, has reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and good governance for his constituents.

 

 

 

 

The senator declared this at the opening ceremony of his Constituency Office in Asaba, the state capital. He maintained that the youths and women were integral in his constituency blueprint for the next phase of his constituency projects.

 

 

 

 

 

The federal lawmaker, who was accompanied by his wife, Regina Daniels Nwoko said, he was saddled with three key responsibilities, exemplified by the Bills and motions on Projects Implementation and Empowerment programmes.

Sen. Nwoko informed the gathering that he had to his credit, record number over 20 bills and multiple motions, all dedicated to the development of Anioma, Nigeria Delta and Nigeria, in general, and that he is working hard to actualize the functionality of Okpai Power Plant with 100 mega wats, when that is achieved, Delta North would get adequate electricity.

 

 

 

 

 

“I raised a motion in that direction and went ahead to meet minister of Power and TCN management. They told me that no representative had ever drawn their attention to the power project ,abandoned long ago.

 

 

 

 

 

 

“There would be statutory allocation for the Okpai project next year and Anioma would be energised with light.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Moreover Ogwashi Uku Dam which i initiated years ago, would be completed to meet the water and irrigation needs of Anioma land which is agrarian by nature”.

Sen. Nwoko, who spoke amidst intermittent ovations, also said he initiated skill acquisition scheme for 260 beneficiaries with each getting N150, 000.

 

 

 

 

 

The federal lawmaker pledged that more Empowerment programmes would be rolled out for the people months ahead.

 

 

 

 

 

 

He assured that he was prepared to serve, having a deep understanding of the problems and aspirations of the populace. While emphasised that he is senator for all as long as you live in Delta North.

 

 

 

 

 

Speaking earlier at the town hall meeting in Asaba, attended by a mammoth gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers, youths and women of Anioma. Senator Ned Nwoko said he came home to brief them about his stewardship, derived from the overwhelming mandate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Various speakers at the Town hall meeting including prominent personalities, youths and women eulogised Sen. Nwoko for working for the best interests of all that that his achievements at the senate stand unprecedented.

 

 

 

 

 

 

They acknowledged that he has distinguished himself in the service of Anioma and the Nation and pledged continued support.
