Ramadan: Jigawa Govt. reduces working hours for staff

The Jigawa Government has approved the reduction of official working hours in the state by two hours during the 2019 Ramadan fast.
Alhaji Isma’il Ibrahim, the Spokesman, Office of the state Head of Service, said in Dutse on Tuesday in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Ibrahim said workers would now report to their offices by 9 a.m. and close by 3 p.m. between Monday and Thursday, instead of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

He added that on Fridays, workers would report to work by 9 a.m. and close by 1 p.m., instead of the usual 3 p.m.

Ibrahim explained that the gesture was aimed at providing more time for civil servants to prepare for breaking of fast and observe other spiritual activities.

“It is hoped that the civil servants in the state will use the Ramadan period to pray for God’s guidance, peace, economic prosperity and blessings for the state and Nigeria,’’ he said. (NAN)
