OGSHC serves Contravention Notice to illegal occupants of Ikangba Estate

The Ogun State Housing Corporation (OGSHC) has given contravention notice to 36 illegal occupants, who erected structures on the extension of Ikangba Estate, Igbeba, Ijebu-Ode.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Director of Estate and Planning in the Corporation, Mr. Nafiu Olaleye, who led an enforcement team on a survey tour of the area, said it was discovered that some portions of land at Ikangba Estate had been occupied and named, ‘Bourdilion Estate’, without the approval of the Corporation.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Olaleye, according to the Press officer, Ogun State Housing Corporation, Mrs. Mistura Oshileye, stressed that the Corporation would not allow any act of illegality in its estates across the state, noting that the government had developmental desire and plans to execute further housing projects on the land.

“We have come here to serve contravention notice to illegal occupants of the Ogun State Housing Corporation’s landed property, to serve as a deterrent to others. All buildings on this Bourdillion Estate do not have the proper title document and this is unacceptable”.

 

 

 

 

 

“It is wrong to build structures without undergoing due process because the land may be either designed to serve as residential, commercial or industrial purpose”, he said.

 

 

 

 

 

He advised members of the public to ensure the authenticity of lands before purchase, warning land grabbers to desist from selling government lands.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Remarking, Vice-Chairman, Bourdillon Community Development Association, Mr. Adebowale Abiola, pleaded with the Corporation for their action, promising to abide with stipulated rules and regulations on the issue.
