The Federal Government has confessed to facing enormous financial challenges and being only able to pay salaries.
According to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, who spoke in Abuja on Thursday, the country is experiencing revenue deficit even as the population continues to grow, adding that the government is broke and only struggling to pay salaries.

The minister said: “Government faces enormous challenges especially now; the government is facing a revenue deficit. There is no money anywhere in the country; the government is just managing to pay salaries.
“The growth rate is very slow and the population growth is fast pacing and increasing. Unemployment is surging in the midst of high inflation.”
He called on non-governmental organisations to assist the government to cover the spaces it could not.
