JUST IN: DSS bars Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Igbo leaders, media from court room

Operatives of the Department of States Services (DSS), on Wednesday, in Abuja, barred a lawyer of detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Mr. Maxwell Opara, from gaining entry into the court room.

The treason trial of Nnamdi Kanu continued today (Wednesday) in the nation’s capital.

The security operatives also prevented  reporters, Igbo traditional elders as well as spectators and activists from entering the court room.

Other lawyers represented Mazi Kanu, Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Aloy Ejimakor were allowed to enter the courtroom.

Trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako had adjourned Kanu’s trial to today (Wednesday).

Kanu is being held in the custody of the Department of State Services since his re-arrest from a foreign country in June 2021 on terrorism-related charges.
