Lata Tondon, the Indian chef, has pleaded with Nigerians to “maintain peace” while awaiting confirmation from the Guinness World Records on Hilda Baci’s recent feat.

However, Baci, the Nigerian chef, broke the Indian’s record on Monday at the Amore Gardens, Lekki in Lagos.

TheCable reports that after breaking Tondon’s cooking record, the Akwa Ibom-born chef also went a step further by setting a new record of 100 hours.
While Nigerians celebrated Baci’s achievement on Twitter, the Guinness World Records disclosed that it will review all the evidence first before officially confirming the record set by the Nigerian.
However, some critics appeared to have taken to Tondon’s social media pages to taunt her over the possibility of losing her record to Baci.
Reacting on Tuesday, Tondon took to her Instastory to appeal to critics to wait for Guinness to announce if Baci broke her current record or not.
The Indian chef also called for peace among Nigerians and Indians, adding that the two countries should not make the record a “competition.”
“A humble request to all my sisters and brothers in Nigeria and India to maintain peace,” she wrote.
“And wait for Guinness to officially announce if the current record is broken or not.
“Please don’t make it a competition. It’s just a record, my friends. I am a peace-loving person and wish the same for you.”

President Muhammadu Buhari, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala were among the prominent figures who congratulated the chef on her recent feat.
