Gov. Oborevwori meets Tinubu over killing of soldiers in Delta

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, on Tuesday, met with President Bola Tinubu over the gruesome killing of military personnel around Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

 

 

 

Governor Oborevwori went into a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu where both leaders discussed the incident extensively.

A group of gunmen had, on Thursday, last week, ambushed the slain military personnel, killing 17 of them including a Lieutenant Colonel, two Majors and one Captain who were said to be on peace mission to the area.

 

 

 

 

 

Governor Oborevwori, who also met with security heads at the military base in Bomadi, said the situation in the area had been brought under control.

 

 

 

 

Addressing State House correspondents at the end of the meeting with the President, the governor assured that there would be no further attacks.
