Anambra guber: APGA clears Charles Soludo, disqualifies Rep.

Ahead of the 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has concluded the screening exercise for would-be aspirants for the coveted seat in the state.

Top on the list of those cleared to contest the governorship seat on the banner of the party is a former Governor of the Central |bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Others cleared alongside Soludo were Okolo Damian Chibuzo and Ibeh ThankGod Kenechukwu.

The sledge hammer of the screening committee, however, fell on a Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Umeoji Chukwuma Michael.

Others disqualified were Ozoka Odera Ifeanyi, Okafor Nonso, Nwankpo Akachukwu Sullivan and Umeoduagu Nnamdi Dike.

Those dissatisfied with their disqualifications were, however, urged seek appeal, in writing to the Appeal Panel of the party.

A release issued by Ifeanyi Mbaeri, National Organising Secretary of APGA, said that the outcome of the screening committee and that of the Screening Appeal Panel were subject to veto by the National Working Committee of the party.
