Lionel Messi, the Argentine football international and Paris Saint-German, PSG, player has been revealed as the winner of the 2021 Ballon D’or.
Though the award is slated for today’s night, the winner was revealed by Manchester United legend, Patrice Evra after he congratulated Messi ahead of the award nights.

Evra left a cryptic message on his Instagram account when he uploaded a photograph of him and Messi jostling for the ball in an old Manchester United v. Barcelona UEFA Champions League encounter, with a caption, “Congratulations to @leomessi for winning another Ballon d’Or.”
Messi was nominated along with his long time rival, Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, Robert Lewandoski of Bayern Munich and other top players.
Messi has won the Ballon d’Or a record seven times in his football career.
