Renowned diplomat and statesman, Amb. Okey Emuchay, has formally declared his interest to run for the position of Secretary general of the pan-Igbo sociocultural awareness group, Ohanaeze.
The elections to usher in new Executive Council to take over from the Chief Nnia Nwodo-led exco are scheduled for the second week of January 2021.
In a short statement made available to Nigerian Xpress, Amb. Emuchay said:
“I have the honour to indicate that I will make myself available for the position of secretary general of ohaneze which has been zoned to Abia state. The election is scheduled for 10th January 2021 in Enugu”.
While the position of Secretary general has been zoned to Abia, the President is to come from Imo State, where Prof. George Obiozor and Chief Goddy Uwazuruike have already indicated interest.
