Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has submitted 21 nominees for appointments as commissioners and special advisers to the Speaker, state’s House of Assembly.
The Clerk of the House, Mrs. Mandu Umoren, read the names of the nominees at plenary to the honourable Members. The lists are as follows:

Accordingly, the leader of the House, Hon. Udo Kieran Akpan, moved a motion for the acceptance of the nominees, while the Deputy Leader, Hon. Mrs. Felicia Bassey seconded the motion.
Addressing the honourable members, the Speaker, Hon. Aniekan Bassey, referred the listed nominees to the Judiciary, human rights community and Public Petitions for scrutiny and urged the Committee to report back within seven days.
Hon. Bassey further inaugurated a 26 standing Committees for the smooth running of the seventh Assembly namely:
