Aisha Buhari thanks Patience Jonathan for role in COVID-19 fight

Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Hajia Aisha Buhari, has lauded her predecessor, Dame Patience Jonathan, for her efforts towards combating the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Incumbent First Lady, in a series of tweets, on Thursday, commended Mrs. Jonathan, who donated her Abuja hotel to serve as isolation centre for COVID-19 patients.

The tweets read: “APPRECIATION #GETINVOLVED #FIGHTCOVID19

“I would like to express my appreciation to all those who responded to our call through my GET INVOLVED INITIATIVE to contribute towards the fight against COVID 19.

“I thank Nigerians particularly all Former First Ladies for their Goodwill and some contributions in kind, especially Dame Patience Jonathan for willingly releasing her hospital that’s in court but still under her possession to be used as a COVID -19 isolation center TEMPORARILY.

“All the donated items including hospital beds, bed sheets, Personal Protective Equipment-PPE and medications will be distributed immediately to centres where they will be utilised appropriately.

“It is my earnest prayers for the end of this global pandemic.”
